Blue light damages your skin and health

Every day last week, shortly after I sat down at my desk to start working, I got a headache. It was the behind the eyes kind of headache. As you may know, I don’t like taking Advil or any pain medicine. I went through my natural remedy check list, (starting with the tension balm of course), but nothing was working. On Friday, I had a (light bulb go off) moment, after struggling with this headache all week. I thought I had been working longer hours in front of my computer and phone, so I quickly checked to see my screen time and it was way way up. I slowly stepped away from all screens until Monday to give my eyes and head a break.

It turned out that my eyes needed the break, I didn't have a headache all weekend!

Blue Light from your cell phone damaging your skin

Here is a crazy stat for you.

67% of people are spending an average of 6 hours a day on a device emitting blue light rays!

Here’s another wild fact that will give you a shiver up your spine!

6 hours a day for a 5 day work week is the same as being in the sun for 30 minutes without sunscreen!

Last stat for you.

50% of our lives are spent staring at screens and this number is estimated to only grow as our devices become more intwined into our daily lives.

Blue light is bad for your skin.

Let’s dive into what Blue Light can to our skin.

Blue light harms our skin with speeding up the aging process by damaging our skin cells. The blue light rays break down collagen, leaving your skin with less elasticity and creating wrinkles. The exposure can prevent the cells from rejuvenating, causing inflammation, redness, and discolouration in your skin.

So what can we do to protect our skin?

In November during our Big Black Friday Sale, we launched our Armour Blue Moisturizer. We never really gave this amazing product the proper introduction.

Meet Armour Blue Moisturizer!

Blue Light Protection Moisturizer

A blue light protective morning moisturizer.

It’s packed full of antioxidants and is an innovative blend of amino acids, red algae, minerals and vitamins to protect your skin against blue light. It also will boost collagen production and keep your skin moisturized all day.

It will help prevent your skin from looking dull, having redness, dark spots, fine lines and of course wrinkles.

The most common question we get ask about the moisturizer?

Is it thick, heavy, greasy?

The answer is NO! It’s lightweight, and immensely moisturizing on your skin.
